What is a PWA and how does it differ from an app bought from an online store?

A Progressive Web App (PWA) is an application built using web technologies that can be installed directly on your device without having to go through an app store like Apple's App Store or Google Play.

The main differences are:

  • Direct Installation: You install a PWA directly from your web browser (like Safari or Chrome) instead of searching for it in a centralized app store.
  • Space Efficiency: PWAs take up a fraction of the storage space on your device compared to traditional native apps.
  • Instant Updates: PWAs can update themselves seamlessly when connected to the internet, so you always have the latest features without downloading massive updates.
  • Offline Capability: Just like traditional apps, PetHarmony's PWA can work securely offline or with poor network connections.

How To Obtain Updates.

PetHarmony is a Progressive Web App (PWA), which means it can update itself automatically. However, because of browser caching, you might sometimes need to manually trigger an update to see the latest features and security patches.

Method 1: Using the "Force Update" Feature (Recommended)

This is the most reliable way to ensure your app is running the absolute latest build available on our servers.

  1. Open PetHarmony: Launch the app on your mobile device.
  2. Go to Bio Profile: Tap the Bio Profile (Settings) icon in the navigation menu.
  3. System Maintenance: Scroll down to the System Maintenance section in the sidebar.
  4. Force Update: Tap the "Force Update App" button.
  5. Confirm: Tap OK on the confirmation prompt. The app will clear its local cache and reload the fresh clinical node. Note, you will have to log back into the app after a Force Update.

Method 2: Manual Refresh (iOS & Android)

If you prefer a manual approach without using the in-app settings:

  1. Close the App: Completely exit the app by swiping it away from your recent apps list.
  2. Re-launch: Tap the PetHarmony icon on your home screen.
  3. Watch for Banner: If a new version is detected, a blue "Update Available" banner will appear at the top. Tap it to immediately apply the update.

How to Verify Your Version

To confirm you are on the latest version, you can check the build number at the bottom of the Overview page or inside the Bio Profile. The current stable release is v3.1.1.

Tip: If you are still not seeing an update, you can always delete the app from your home screen and reinstall it by visiting petharmonycare.com/app in your browser and selecting "Add to Home Screen" again.

How to add the PetHarmony app on your Apple device.

To install the PetHarmony Progressive Web App (PWA) on your iPhone or iPad, follow these simple steps:

  1. Open Safari: Launch the Safari browser, as other browsers on iOS do not support installing PWAs to the home screen.
  2. Navigate to the App: Go to petharmonycare.com/app.
  3. Access the Share Menu: Tap the Share icon (the square with an arrow pointing up) located at the bottom of the screen on an iPhone, or at the top of the screen on an iPad.
  4. Add to Home Screen: Scroll down the Share menu options and tap Add to Home Screen.
  5. Confirm: Tap Add in the top right corner. The PetHarmony icon will now appear on your home screen for easy access!

How to add the PetHarmony app to your Android device.

To install the PetHarmony Progressive Web App (PWA) on your Android device, follow these steps:

  1. Open Google Chrome: Launch the Chrome browser on your device.
  2. Navigate to the App: Go to petharmonycare.com/app.
  3. Install Prompt: You may see a banner at the bottom of the screen stating "Add PetHarmony to Home screen". If you do, simply tap it.
  4. Manual Installation: If the banner doesn't appear, tap the Menu icon (three vertical dots) in the top right corner of the browser.
  5. Add to Home Screen: Select Install app or Add to Home screen from the menu.
  6. Confirm: Follow the on-screen prompts to confirm. The PetHarmony app will now be available alongside your other apps!

How to use the AI Assistant.

The PetHarmony AI Assistant is designed to help you quickly find answers and get helpful guidance regarding your pet's wellness routine. To use the AI Assistant:

  1. Open the AI Assistant: Tap on the AI Assistant or Chat icon located within the app navigation menu.
  2. Ask Your Question (Typing): Type your question or concern in the chat box, such as "What can I feed a dog with a sensitive stomach?" or "Remind me when the next vaccination is due."
  3. Ask Your Question (Dictation): Alternatively, tap the Microphone icon near the chat box to use the dictation feature. Speak your question clearly, and the assistant will transcribe and answer it.
  4. Review Responses: The AI will analyze your query and provide context-specific information or guide you through app features.

How do I manage my billing or cancel my subscription?

PetHarmony payments are securely processed via Stripe. If you are on a recurring plan, you can manage your payment methods or cancel your subscription at any time by contacting our support team at info@petharmonycare.com. If you cancel, you will retain access until the end of your current billing period.

If you require a refund, please submit your request to info@petharmonycare.com. Approved refunds are processed directly through our payment partner, Stripe, and are returned to your original payment method. In accordance with Stripe's standard processing procedures, please allow 5-10 business days for the funds to appear on your bank or credit card statement.

Is my pet's medical data and personal information secure?

Absolutely. We take your privacy very seriously. All of your pet's health records, vet contacts, and personal data are encrypted and securely stored in our cloud infrastructure using industry-standard security protocols. Your data is strictly private and is never sold to third-party marketers or advertisers.

Can I share my pet's records with my vet, groomer, or family members?

PetHarmony is designed to keep all your pet's information in one central hub. Currently, the best way to share information with your vet or groomer is to have the app open during your visit, as all records, vitals, and notes are instantly accessible. Multi-user account sharing and PDF record exporting are features our team is actively working on for a future update!

How do I reset my password or delete my account?

If you've forgotten your password, simply click the Forgot Password? link on the login screen, and we will email you a secure reset link.

If you wish to permanently delete your account and completely wipe all associated data from our servers, please email your request to info@petharmonycare.com from the email address registered to your account, and our team will securely process the deletion.
